Playfully from study to practice

Intern programs gameworld for infoteam career-homepage

Bubenreuth, the 07.10.2020

  • Software service provider attracts applicants in a playful way
  • Students and trainees gain experience directly in practical projects
  • Expert House at infoteam supports employees in their career entry

The infoteam universe has been online for a few days now on the career-homepage of the infoteam software group - a gameworld that gives interested applicants an additional insight into the way infoteam works and its corporate culture. The special thing about it is the creator of the gameworld: Felicia Debye, media engineering student at the Technical University of Nuremberg. For over a year, the trained media designer for digital and print has been working as a student trainee in the marketing department of the infoteam Software Group. As part of the mandatory student internship, she wanted to delve deeper into the subject of software development and combine it with her creative talent. Based on JavaScript, Phaser 3 and HTML5 as well as CSS3, the infoteam world, which is based on science fiction, was thus created, paired with loving attention to detail, starting with the graphic design, through the formulation of the texts, to the individual dubbing of each character.

"At infoteam, all students have the same high status as trained or studied software developers," emphasizes Andrea Gollmann, who as Head of Expert House supervises and specifically promotes all employees with less than one year of professional experience. The company therefore deliberately employs students who are doing their internship, working student job, thesis or dual studies both in customer projects and in value-adding internal projects such as the infoteam game world. "We believe that this gives our young employees the greatest practical benefit for their personal development and, conversely, makes them even better developers for infoteam". For Felicia Debye, the adventure ended with the release of the infoteam universe on the career homepage of the infoteam software group and the move back to marketing. But in the background there are still some cool ideas for a second part.
