For a physician to be able to prescribe an app and for the health insurer to reimburse the expenses for its use, the BfArM must include it in the directory of reimbursable DIGA. To this end some essential requirements must be met: IT security, normative app development, certifications, maintenance and much more – all these issues need to be taken into account in the business plan that is transforming a good idea into a successful DiGA.
