Successful launch of the "Security in Production" initiative

With the kick-off event "Security in Production - Helping People Help Themselves" of the Mechatronics & Automation Cluster, which took place on 13th November at infoteam Software AG, a first step was taken towards building the competence of interested Bavarian production companies in the field of effective protective measures against cyber attacks.

The fact that this topic is highly topical in the area of production underlines the great interest shown by around 80 representatives from manufacturing industry, technical experts and research institutions, who found their way to infoteam on this day.

Six technical lectures illuminated the topic Security in the production from most diverse angles. It became clear: Digitisation and industry 4.0 already present new challenges for production today.

In order to combine existing competence with practice, a so-called SIT (Strategic Innovation Team) of interested companies (users and experts) will be founded in the cluster for each topic of the initiative. The SIT Security Network is now being created for the topic of production security, which is to discuss and solve all related issues. The aim of the SIT Security Network is to develop and offer an overall concept for mechanical engineering and production technology (OT) with R&D projects, further training, information exchange between users and security experts for dealing with the challenges of IT/OT security.

For Andreas Turk from infoteam, it is clear: "No company can fully cover the topic of industrial security in particular, what matters here are portable structures and networks that support each other and contribute their respective core competencies.

Around 80 guests attended the opening event in Bubenreuth.
